If you think that shiny and sparkly dresses are reserved for the winter season, think again. This year biggest designer houses such as Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and Gucci showed that sparkle and sequins are definitely not just a winter trend — it will be a huge trend this summer season.
Pastels are still in this season, mix and match for more interest. Fashion houses like Celine, Emilia Wickstead and Dries Van Noten are all mix and matching their pastels. Be careful, think about the colour wheel if you want your outfits to really pop go with complementary colours on the colour wheel ( opposite to each other),while if you want a more toned down outfit but still sophisticated analogous colours will do (closer together on the colour wheel)
If you follow me for awhile you guys know this trend is not new to me. I love bright vibrant colours. I believe they carry so much life and inspiration, you can construct such beautiful outfits with bright colours, plus I do not mind standing out. So for all the fierce women out there , pull out your neon vibrant coloured clothes and let’s show them what we got! Fashion houses like MSGM and Versace would support our decision. If you are a newbie to the bold colour game — one of the biggest trends this season are yellow dresses- so if it compliments your skin tone you can pick one up.
Fashion houses like Dolce & Gabbana, Erdem and Alessandra Rich all have one thing in common- they have all voted this season to bring back the 40’s and 50’s vintage floral looks. I think florals is a great trend for the summer, makes me think back to my childhood, although naturally I have a preference for bold primary colours.
Women that are the romantic types this is definitely your season to shine! What an amazing trend to show of your figure while embracing elegance, and sheer fabrics will also keep us cool that’s a benefit for the hot summer months right? Fashion houses like Dior,Simone Rocha and Prabal Gurung introduced some beautiful transparent midi length dresses, either worn over bare skin or with shorts and something over it.
This feminine touch I believe is really nice for the summer. It gives every woman a more romantic feel to their outfit and with the right colours it can even look sultry (thinking primary colours here like red, pink etc). Brands like Alexander McQueen and Erdem are embracing this trend, so why shouldn’t we be?
