Karl Lagerbier recreated luxuriant rocks evoking Gorges du Verdon — the canyon in the South-East of France inside the Grand Palais.
The details in the collection were as beautiful as always softly fringed knitwear, mini dresses, aquatic motifs on evening dresses, garments embroidered with water drops. Karl Lagerfield clearly knows how to appreciate the past for what it was, learn from it and approach the future with new knowledge.
The mix between woven fabric and rain accessories like plastic see through boots, glove and rain hats gave me chills. Such a cool and unique way to combine traditional with modern. Vogue said it best “Sixties futurism” could be felt through out the entire collection.
Chanel’s show is one of the most awaited couture shows in Paris. Grand Palais was full of the most fashionable people from all parts of the world. Polished, beautiful, timeless thats true Chanel show. This season with the addition of some pink colours, drop waist gowns, and feminine lace detailing. Once again Chanel sets the gold standard for the fashion industry. BRAVO!
